AutoCAD Block Units Vs Insertion scale Units

AutoCAD Block Units

We must have come across the problem of seeing the blocks that we pasted from another file looking too big or too small. Well the reason is the relation between Insertion scale units in Units dialog box & the Block units. Here’s an example problem:

1. I open file in Architectural units..cntrl+C a block created there.

2. Next come to decimal units file with insertion scale set to millimeter, cntrl +V to paste, Lo! its tinyyy..

3. Now just use command ‘I’ (insert) to place the same block, this time its sizes correctly, check the scale factor in the insert dialog box.

JUST KEEP THE DRAWING INSERTION SCALE TO DRAWING UNIT SCALE, USE INSERT COMMAND TO AUTOSCALE YOUR BLOCKS AND AVOID MANUAL SCALING USING SCALE COMMAND.
